Tour of The 2200 at Cary

  • The 2200 at Cary 2200 West Cary Street Richmond, VA, 23220 United States (map)
An interior photo of a unit at 2200 Cary. The furniture is classic MCM while the kitchen is sleek an understated modernism.

The tour of The 2200 at Cary will begin at the corner of West Cary Street and South Shields Avenue. The 2200 is a complex of 19 single-family attached and detached residences that enclose a courtyard. After entering the courtyard and checking in, attendees will be able to tour four completed townhouses and one that is still under construction.

This group of modern townhouses is a 21st century response to nearby historic architecture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The cantilevered bays and balconies create staccato accents along the streetscape and courtyard frontage. The courtyard or mews is roughly 150’ deep with a 1:2 width-to-height ratio. The courtyard walls, cantilevered rooms and balconies, and choice of color create the dynamic community space from which attendees will visit the four owner-occupied townhouses.

We will enjoy drinks, and light hors oeuvres in an unfinished unit near the entry to the mews.

At 6:15 we will have remarks from our speakers: the developer and contractor, Sam Daniel with Daniel and Company, Inc., architect Dave Johannas of the Johannas Design Group, and realtor Andrea Levine representing One South Realty Group.

On street parking is available on West Cary, Strawberry, and West Main Streets. We recommend carpooling to this event as parking in the area may be tight during rush hour.
