Join Modern Richmond on April 17th at 5:30 PM for a tour of a recently renovated traditional Georgian home into a modern masterpiece. The current homeowners purchased the home in 2017 and immediately hired Dan Ensminger, Ensminger Architects, to transform the home to an inviting space reflecting their design aesthetics and Spanish design elements that would pay homage to the husband’s heritage. Dan, along with the design firm, Beaty and Brown, created a spectacular home where every detail is carefully thought out with impressive finishing touches that met all of the homeowner's goals.
Key elements include the entry level which opens up the center of the home creating the main focal point of a new grand staircase connecting the interior floors with an artistic curve that flows effortlessly to each of the other floors. This floor also extends out to an exterior kitchen and entertaining space with a pool, outdoor fireplace and a pool house. The open floor plan of the second floor and main living space introduces a 2 story kitchen, scullery, a living space at the front of the house and a large dining area with a new family room addition which opens onto another outdoor living space for entertaining.
The general contractor for the project was Dunkum Homes with cabinetry by Martin-Star.
